Mask Time September 2018

Hey there! so last month i wrote about this brilliant face mask subscription box called mask time that i was sent to review and i was lucky enough that they sent me the a box this month as well!

Mask time is a monthly subscription box, full of korean sheet masks, plus a little added skincare extra every month. You can choose the glow starter box (which is the one i have here) which is £9.95 and for that you get 4 sheet masks and the skincare extra, or you can go for the glow setter box which is £24.99 and contains between 8-10 sheet masks and the skincare extra. Mask time is a brilliant subscription box if like me you love doing face masks a lot, its so handy! its very interesting to see all these new interesting face masks, plus in every box you get to learn a korean word which is a lovely little special touch.

This months box is all about soothing your skin and healing any irritation summer may have left.

Anyway shall we look at what masks i got this month?

I love the packaging of korean sheet masks they look so interesting, they have marketing down for sure!

Aool pore & spot care mask rp £3.50 – they have managed to make a spot look cute! anyway, this mask uses ulmus davidiana root extract(which google tells me is a small tree) as it is brilliant for boosting the skins hydration levels, and it is also anti-inflammatory & photoprotective! (helps protect against the sun). this mask also contains pueraria lobata root extract (this seems to be a flower in the pea family) which helps brighten and lighten pigmentation caused by acne scarring etc. i havent used this one yet but i will be soon! i do have my fair share of scarring so it sounds perfect for me.

Dr. plus banana milk mask rp £4.00 – oh boy! so this mask is meant to smell exactly like banana milk, which means i am actually going to pass this one onto my mum because i actually really dont like the smell of bananas, buts thats ok because my mum loves it. So the milky essence helps to balance water content in the skin helping it retain moisture, and lactic acid helps reduce pigmention (lactic acid is an acid exfoliater  i spoke about earlier this week!) acne and sunburn if you have managed to get a bit burnt.

Proud mary ceral pore mask pack rp £3.95 – has soon as i saw this mask i was curious, chestnuts? but indeed, chestnuts! so chestnut extract is meant to help improve the texture of the skin, while you have peppermint leaf extract giving a cooling sensation and helping to balance oils with lavender extract to help combat bacteria healing any open spots you have and helps prevent new ones!
A pieu icing sweet bar sheet mask watermelon rp £3.00 – this mask caught my eye as soon as i spotted it, icing? ice lolly? face mask? what?, but, this mask contains deep sea water to soothe and moisturise and watermelon extract which is rich in vit c, amino acids and lycopene, which cleanses the skin, exfoliates and promotes cell regeneration! i have used this mask and it was lovely, my skin really drank it up and it felt very nice and soothing on the skin.

The skincare extra this month is a little sample of plustem UV perfect block essence, which is spf 50. There isnt much english on the packet so i cant tell you much! but spf makes sense, this box is all about repairing any damage you did in the summer, last thing you want to do is do more damage!

Overall im really happy with this box, mask time continues to impress me i really like everything ive seen from them!

I was sent this free of charge to review, this does not effect my opinion.

Mask Time subscription box – face masks galore!

Hey! So this is a rather exciting post as this post is going up on my birthday! i am most likely wearing one of these masks as you read this actually, as i  am a massive mask fan, i use one at least once a week generally twice a week. I am combo/oily skinned so i often go for clay/charcoal masks. So you can imagine how excited i was when i was very kindly sent the july 2018 box from mask time!

Now mask time is a face mask subscription box, regardless of the box you pick you get a selection of korean face masks (normally sheet masks) and a skincare item or two sometimes. You can go for the glow setter monthly box that costs £24.99 for 11 masks, or you can go for the glow starter box which is £9.95 for 4 face masks, which basically means you get one a week, perfect! Every box is sent out on the 2nd of every month and with free shipping, always nice!

On top of this, you can also buy previous months boxes if you so wish and you can also buy the masks you try individually so if you really fall in love with a mask you can re-purchase it!

So, i got the july 2018 mask time glow starter box.

A really cute touch in the boxes is that inside is a little card explaining the box, and on the card is a little korean sentence so you can try and learn a korean word, and you get to learn a new word every box which is really cute.

As you can see, the box comes really nicely packaged and wrapped and inside is the lovely sheet masks! and as you can see the masks are all targeted towards dealing with spots, oily skin and pores, so up my street.

The skincare “extra” this month is rather crazy, a full sized urban dollkiss carbonated bubble charcoal clay mask (RRP £14.99). Yep, the extra is worth more than the box itself! i have wanted to try one of these bubble masks for ages, and the day before this arrived i actually almost bought one so this was really good timing. The mask arrives with a spatula that you use to apply an even layer to your face, avoiding the eyes & lips and then you wait around 5 minutes for the mask to bubble and foam up. And it really does! it bubbles and foams on your face, and you can actually feel it fizzing on your face, you then wash it off like you would any other mask. Though i do suggest you crush the bubbles first because that was my favourite bit! i really love the fun factor of this mask, and it is very cleansing and left my skin feeling very clean, it might be too much in the winter but after the heat wave we had it was honestly just what my skin needed.

Now, onto the sheet masks.

First up we have the TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL egg cream mask pore tightening RRP £4.80 – I was equal parts scared and excited to see this! i know that using egg extract to help with pores is big in Korea but still i find it a little odd. Basically the premise of these sheet mask is its a very soft microfiber sheet infused with albumen, which is egg white extract and vinegar to target and help with oily skin and enlarged pores. I havent tried this one yet, its that feeling of i want too but, eggs? i will try this and report back at some point!

Next is the ROYAL SKIN real mud mask RRP £3.00 and is made from 100% boryeong mud, this basically sounds like one of those masks that does pretty much everything! moisturises, soothes, brightens and purifies as well as being anti-oxidant, anti-aging and anti- irritation so it really does seem like it can do a little bit of everything.

The ESFOLIO volcanic ash essence mask  RRP £3.00, Not only does this mask have cute packaging, this mask is packed of volcanic ash that helps drag out dirt and other gunk in your skin so the other good things in the mask like ginseng can do even more good. I tried this mask yesterday and it was lovely! the mask itself is very wet, it feels super cooling on the skin and my skin felt very hydrated the whole day.

PONYBROWN PLUS Skin hue clearing black mask RRP £3.50, now you know the cute packaging i mentioned? well this mask has it even more! i mean how cute! Now this mask is another one that can do basically everything,  though it is even tested by the korea semyang university so we know it works and is ok to use on sensitive skins.

So there you have it! all in all honestly i really like this subscription box, i love the fact that even in the cheaper option you have enough to do 1 a week and you can buy previous boxes if you missed one you really wanted to try. This is a lovely way to treat yourself once a month or as a gift to any other face mask fan you know.
