Revolution conceal & define full coverage foundation.

Hey there! So, erm shiny things are really annoying to photograph aint they? because this was a bloody nightmare! but worth it, because this is the foundation everyone and there mother has been talking about lately, the Revolution conceal & define full coverage foundation £9.00. Revolution have been on fire, they are releasing new products every week at least! when they brought out this foundation to match there very popular concealer in the same range (that they brought out in supersize at the same time) it hit youtube and blogs in a wave.

I knew i wanted to try it, but decided i would wait until i wanted to make a revolution order to try it. Glad i did because there halloween range came out a few weeks later!

This foundation is meant to be a creamy, comfortable formula with a buildable coverage and sets to a demi-matte finish. It comes in 24 shades, its a pretty wide range but of course it could always be better! I got the palest shade, F0.5 which is fair with pink undertones.

I thought it would finally actually be pale enough for me, and it is pale enough for sure, but i actually think it might be slightly too pink! rare for me, because i am pink toned, but it does pull a tiny bit pink on me.

Considering the price, the packaging is really nice! a glass bottle with a giant doe foot applicator. I haven’t had a foundation with this kind of applicator before, i like it but i am scared every time i pull the wand out that its going to splatter everywhere!

First off this foundation is pretty high coverage! you dont need that much of it, and it covers any discolouration, dark circles and most spots in the first coat, i only needed to build it up slightly on very annoyed spots etc and it does build up very easily.

I would call the finish it gives more of a matte finish than a demi matte finish honestly. Even though i did set it, because i always test any foundation the way i would wear it, it really didnt need it when first applied at least.

I tested it out two slightly different ways on my combo/oily skin, first time i used the smashbox photo finish primer and then i dotted the foundation onto my face using the applicator and blended it out using a sponge (i used the real techiques sponge). It blends out very easily, sponge is for sure the way to go with this, it blends quickly and easily without any fuss really!

I then set everything using my elf setting powder, applied contour/blusher/highlighter as normal and left it be. i wore it for about 7 hours this day, i wasnt doing a whole lot, mainly sat at my pc, however it was put to the test with some kitchen dancing! at the 2 & 4 hour mark it still looked exactly as it had (minus my glasses marks). However by hour 7 my nose was rather oily and at least some of the foundation on my nose was gone for sure, the foundation around my mouth and nose had faded too and i was shine city! however for 7 hours, i have seen worse wear for sure, but it wasnt perfect.

Next time i tried it, i was very brave for me because if i have to go out normally i would always wear my estee lauder double wear. It honestly scares me to wear anything else! but i wore this foundation going to therapy last week. I started it off the same, smashbox photo finish primer but this time i used the soap & glory one heck of a blot primer on my nose, i then used the foundation applied in the exact same way as before. I did use concealer this time for under my eyes, the matching revolution conceal & define concealer mixed with a bit of the foundation and whitening drops as its a bit dark for me, that went on completely fine. Then i set everything with my elf setting powder, and applied my contour/blusher/highlighter as normal, however it was at this point i noticed my nose. It looked awful, very cakey and powdery, so i removed the foundation just from my nose alone, then reapplied the smashbox primer, foundation and powder and it was fine, so this foundation for me at least is one of those that needs a silicone based primer or its dry cakey city.

I was wearing this foundation for maybe 3 hours? but this time i was moving around, though not very much! just like, getting in the car, going up stairs etc. once home i tried on some dresses, and while this didnt make me sweat it did heat me up a bit! i looked in the mirror at this point and saw that the foundation had sort of oxidised? it was odd, but it was looking even pinker than it had before! my glasses situation was also really bad, now my glasses are in dire need of replacing so they dont really stay in one place anymore but pretty much were ever the glasses had touched even a little bit the foundation was gone, and there was a tiny bit of caking on my chin but nothing really noticeable.

In conclusion honestly this is a pretty good foundation! but its just not perfect, it may be my skin type or the way ive tried it that causes those issues who knows! and the issues i had really are not a big deal, if i still wore makeup everyday this really would be a perfect everyday foundation i think, but because i dont and i need a foundation that basically doesnt cause me anxiety its not quite there, very close however!

have you tried this? what did you think?

Superdrug Halloween Haul.

Hey there! so first up, yes my picture is a bit different, i really want to up my photo game so i hope you enjoy! Anyway ive just finished 2 weeks were i told myself i couldnt buy anything i didnt need, and i did exactly that (well, ok almost). Anyway, that ended this tuesday and well….by 2am tuesday morning i had placed this order!

i knew that as soon as i could i would be getting some bits from the revolution halloween range, i tend to buy everything from the halloween range every year. I choose not to do that this year, the lipsticks while they looked pretty i had all the colours from revolution already, i already have there past 2 SFX palettes that i barely use and the lighter palette i just know i wont touch, so i was good! The only thing i want that i didnt pick up because it was out of stock was the liquid highlighter in blood of my enemies, because unsurprisingly a red highlighter had sold out fast!

I normally buy straight from the revolution website, but i needed nail polish remover and superdrug had a offer on revolution halloween makeup so i thought i might as well buy on superdrug! and im glad i did because it arrived very quickly. And of course, i couldnt resist picking up a few bits not from there halloween range i wanted to try.

So quickly get the boring stuff out of the way, i got the Artificial nail polish remover £2.49. I honestly didnt see its might to be for artificial nail removal i just wanted a remover! but actually this could work well because it should be pretty strong.

One of the other boring products i got was the Fruity orange & satsuma shower gel 99p, i tend to always buy an orange shower gel of some sort whenever i order online! this is a lovely one.

Finally for boring, i got the Barry m base coat, top coat and nail hardener 3 in 1 £2.99. I was really in need of a base coat/clear polish, as i wear clear polish all the time regardless, ive had this one before and its a very good one especially at its price point!

Alright, fun things! Revolution added too there skincare, and i knew that i couldnt pass up trying the Revolution skincare intense skin exfoliator 30% AHA + BHA peeling solution £7.99. This solution is an intense exfoliating treatment, i will get back to you on this once ive tried it, im slightly scared but excited!

Unsurprisingly i knew i had to try the Revolution conceal and define foundation F0.5 £9.00, i have tried and quite like the concealer, but what made me wanna try this apart from the fact that its revolution and i adore the brand, is that from the first reviews it looked very high coverage and had a super shade selection. I went for the palest pink toned one i could possibly go for, i think it should be a good match, expect a review coming up!

Revolution launched a new range of pigment pomades very quietly a few weeks ago and there was no way i couldnt try them! im always looking for cream eyeshadows that actually work well, those these pomades can be used for anything, eyes, eyebrows, lips etc you name it. I picked up the Revolution pro pigment pomade in jet black £5.00 because i would be so pleased if this pomade actually stands up to others! i may have finally found a dupe for my colour tattoo.

Onto the halloween goodness! theres no way i was saying no to the Revolution haunted liquid highlighters £5.00. I picked up the ones in lovers wrath and envy, though i hope to be able to find blood of my enemies to complete the set! but they are beautiful, brilliant skull bottles and they have a wonderful pinky/purple or green sheen to them, i need that red one!

Last but not least we have the Revolution beautiful darkness eyeshadow palette £6.00, ill be honest that originally i wasnt sure if i was going to get either of the palettes but im really glad i did. This palette is beautiful! and i really like the lay out of the palette and praise revolution the names are on the palette! review of course incoming.

So there you have it! everything i bought, have you picked up anything from the halloween range? let me know!
