Obsession ultimate marble brush set.

Hey there! so a couple of weeks ago i was looking around for a brush cleaner, for years ive been fine just using a cheap shampoo or the vanish soap bar but for whatever reason i just couldnt get my brushes clean anymore. It didnt matter how much time i took over each brush they were not getting clean! so i thought i would pick up a brush cleaner to see if that helped.

I looked in the revolution sale because of course i hoped i would find something cheap! And i did there solid brush cleaner was £3, but then i spotted this set, it would normally be £60 but for £15 i would get a collection of those weird toothbrush like makeup brushes to try, a sponge (a silicone blender that i knew i wouldnt touch) and of course the brush cleaner. It felt like a no brainer, so i of course picked up the set, the obsession ultimate marble brush set £15.00 being the one in question.

So first off, the brushes are odd but cool! they are pretty soft but that does also differ depending on the brush. For example the big one is the most densely packed, so isnt quite as soft as the smaller ones but none are tough or scratchy.

I have too say, the big one applies foundation very quickly and without streaking etc! its a bit weird to use but once you have figured that out, and there is a learning curve that comes with all these brushes you are good to go and it does apply foundation really well! the other ones are all good for varying cream products, i do tend to go for cream products with these! i also found the small one with a rounded tip worked super well for lipsticks, score!

Next up, the sponge is well a sponge! its not the softest nicest sponge ive used, but it is a very pretty looking sponge that works very well.

So we get to the reason i bought the set, the brush cleaner! has i said, i was really struggling to get my brushes to be clean, and i hoped this would help, and thankfully it did! just not quite enough, but it did help! basically you wet your brush, swirl it in the soap until you get a lather going then swirl it in your hand or on a brush cleaning mat and rinse until clean. i did find that it got most of my brushes clean, cleaner than they have been in ages! the only downside was that a few of my brushes, i think around 2 just wouldn’t get quite clean, but that could just be that they are too far gone however this brush cleaner did help a bit with them! it also did really well on sponges too. One thing i did find was that sometimes you will have to rinse the actual soap itself has all the brushes with different colours go in there you get some interesting lather! but thats not really a problem.

So all in all i really liked this set, its quite a bargain! im glad i picked this during my need a brush cleaner/buy all the things spree lately.

makeup revolution obsession palettes

Hey! so the other week i noticed that at the end of makeup revolutions summer sale the make your own palette selection from makeup obsession were very cheap! the eyeshadows, blushers, highlighters etc were all 30-60p, and the palettes themselves were £1.50 for the large 12 pan size! they didnt have the black ones but even so i wasnt going to pass up on this bargain.

eyeshadow palette left to right – white out, pearl, azure, denim, emerald fizz, miami, royal, hypnotic, haute silver, treasure, midnight black.

you can tell i made this palette cant you? all my favourite colours! as you can see, one or two of the shadows i had already. I really like these eyeshadows, they are smooth, pigmented, they blend really well and dont go patchy. Theres a wide collection of colours to choose from as well, so all in all a really good budget eyeshadow pick that you can make perfect for you!

left to right – contour powder in fair, highlight moon, highlight pop, l’amour, flame, bloom, sun ray.

ive only tried the highlighters from obsession makeup before, so i cant say how the contour powder or blushers are. but i can say that the highlighters are really nice, soft and bendable, and they pack a punch! i really like them, especially moon the pretty lilac one.

so all in all, especially considering the price i paid for all these im really happy! i got such a bargain and i know im going to use them.

what was the last bargain you got?

Makeup Revolution Pro Regeneration Trends Mischief Mattes Review & swatches.

Hey! so this is the first time ive talked about a makeup revolution product on my blog unless its just been listed in a makeup look but trust me it wont be the last! i adore makeup revolution, freedom, obsession products and my makeup collection shows that for sure!

well, a few weeks ago there summer sale started so of course i was straight onto there site (i may have placed another order the day im typing this too…opps), and placed a rather large order, however this palette was not in the sale. It was something i new from the moment it was released i was gonna be ordering the next time i made an order with them, so i did!

This is the Makeup Revolution Pro Regeneration Trends Mischief Mattes palette £8.00, and yes its got one heck of a name! but its worth it because for £8 its an extremely good matte eyeshadow palette.

It contains a wide selection of colours but its of course mainly brights, with a white and a beige thrown in too. Below ive swatched all of the shadows, this is all one swipe, though i will say i was rather warm when i swatched them hence the skipping due to warm hands!

From left to right – Saint, Attached, New Day, Day Dream, Half Time, Believer.
From left to right – Ringleader, Fearless, Shrine, Indication, Crusade, Poison.

From left to right – Upperhand, Underdog, Ricochet, Exclusive, Haunted, Cursed.

As you can see, theres a really good selection of colours, you have your more “wearable” pinks and purples, blues and greens and even a yellow! yellow and red eyeshadow are the two colours i really struggle to find yet the two in this palette are really good. The pigment is extremely good, i mean look at these swatches! for cheaper mattes its crazy, they blend out really nicely and as long as you prime (and i always do) they are going to stay put, even on my very oily hooded lids. I couldnt honestly recommend these enough, ive had trouble not picking it up for every look i do at the minute!

have you tried this palette? did you love it as much as i did? let me know!
