My wax melt obsession & haul.

Hey there! so something a little different today but something i hope to show you all regularly! So back in the spring i posted in a beauty group im part of if anyone could recommend orange scented products, because i was finding that scent seemed to help calm my anxiety. I had a load of suggestions, and one of my friends suggested wax melts, especially the wax melt company bramble wax.

So after a lot of debate (i am not good at making choices!) i bit the bullet, and ordered a wax burner, tea lights and a large box of melts from bramble wax. And months down the line i regularly get a big box of wax melts! i am a complete convert to wax melts, and have indeed found that they help my anxiety a lot, i love a lot of the scents but i have a few favourite scents that i fall back on when my brain is really loosing it.

Bramble wax is a small family run company, you can find there etsy shop here and there facebook page here. All of there waxes are soy based, themed around various pop cultures (movies, books, games, music etc) they also do fortnightly menus of limited edition scents. Normal wax shot pots contain around 35g and cost around the £2 mark (some are £2.10) they do some scents in bigger sizes, and custom pies if you really have an all time favourite!

A very handy thing you can do which is what i do is open up a open box, it lasts for a month and it basically means that any orders you make in that month can go into that box up to 2kg (about 36 shot pots). i tend to do this every month, and am always very happy i do so! filling it with refills of my favourites, and limited editions scents as well.

So, has you can see above i had a rather large haul arrive, this was my first haul in a while as with the heat of the summer i haven’t really been burning too much plus they did have to close for a few weeks due to the heat! i am sorry about the not perfect picture, the sun made them look great but isnt obviously very good for them! anyway, haul.

yes same picture again, but just so that its easier for you too reference.

going from top left –
Barkhang monastery (sample).
Let down your hair (heart string).
Rainbow splash (bramble snap).
Headmasters officer (shot pot).
Ruby slippers (limited edition).
Glass slippers (shot pot).
Cosmic jellies (limited edition).
x2 Leeloo (shot pot).
Peek at you (shot pot).
rapsicle (shot pot).
Peach perfect (limited edition).
Sun and moon (shot pot).
Life of pie (limited edition).
Flash A-ah (limited edition).
Time of my life (limited edition).
Romeo loves Juliet (limited edition).

As you can see, a fair few waxes! now as i said i bought them because i was finding smell was helping with my anxiety and i can hands down say these have really helped. My anxiety is a continuous problem im fighting and anything that helps calm me even a little is good, and these have for sure, some of my favourites are leeloo & hundred acre honey and they are my go my head is a mess help scents.

Honestly i couldn’t suggest wax melts enough, and bramble wax is a brilliant brand to go with if you want to get into them! i plan to show you my wax hauls from now on and i hope you enjoy!

Obsession ultimate marble brush set.

Hey there! so a couple of weeks ago i was looking around for a brush cleaner, for years ive been fine just using a cheap shampoo or the vanish soap bar but for whatever reason i just couldnt get my brushes clean anymore. It didnt matter how much time i took over each brush they were not getting clean! so i thought i would pick up a brush cleaner to see if that helped.

I looked in the revolution sale because of course i hoped i would find something cheap! And i did there solid brush cleaner was £3, but then i spotted this set, it would normally be £60 but for £15 i would get a collection of those weird toothbrush like makeup brushes to try, a sponge (a silicone blender that i knew i wouldnt touch) and of course the brush cleaner. It felt like a no brainer, so i of course picked up the set, the obsession ultimate marble brush set £15.00 being the one in question.

So first off, the brushes are odd but cool! they are pretty soft but that does also differ depending on the brush. For example the big one is the most densely packed, so isnt quite as soft as the smaller ones but none are tough or scratchy.

I have too say, the big one applies foundation very quickly and without streaking etc! its a bit weird to use but once you have figured that out, and there is a learning curve that comes with all these brushes you are good to go and it does apply foundation really well! the other ones are all good for varying cream products, i do tend to go for cream products with these! i also found the small one with a rounded tip worked super well for lipsticks, score!

Next up, the sponge is well a sponge! its not the softest nicest sponge ive used, but it is a very pretty looking sponge that works very well.

So we get to the reason i bought the set, the brush cleaner! has i said, i was really struggling to get my brushes to be clean, and i hoped this would help, and thankfully it did! just not quite enough, but it did help! basically you wet your brush, swirl it in the soap until you get a lather going then swirl it in your hand or on a brush cleaning mat and rinse until clean. i did find that it got most of my brushes clean, cleaner than they have been in ages! the only downside was that a few of my brushes, i think around 2 just wouldn’t get quite clean, but that could just be that they are too far gone however this brush cleaner did help a bit with them! it also did really well on sponges too. One thing i did find was that sometimes you will have to rinse the actual soap itself has all the brushes with different colours go in there you get some interesting lather! but thats not really a problem.

So all in all i really liked this set, its quite a bargain! im glad i picked this during my need a brush cleaner/buy all the things spree lately.

Acid Toning – why do it & my favourites.

Hey there! so today i wanted to chat to you about acid toning, why it can be a very good step in your skincare routine & my personal favourite acid toners!

Before i begin however i will just state that i am no expert, i am not trained and this is just what i know from my own research and trail and error! if your ever concerned, you should of course always ask a professional.

It is also very important to know that if you acid tone you must wear an spf during the day! you should be wearing one regardless, but with acid toning its even more important.

If you havent really heard much about acid toning before you have likely read the word “acid” and been a bit freaked out! when acid toning first became a more mainstream thing everyone had the same kind of reaction, myself included until you learn a bit more about it.

So acid toning is using a toner or pre-soaked pad that contains a gentle AHA or BHA acid in the normal toner stage, and what this does is it gets to work on the skin eating away at dead skin without using very harsh scrubs etc. It also kills off bacteria extremely well so its very good for spots, and helps to fade scars over time as well.

Theres 3 main acids you will find, glycolic, lactic and salicylic acid. glycolic and lactic are AHAs, and salicylic is a BHA, whats the difference? well according to the paulas choice website here AHAs work on the skins surface and are water soluble were as BHAs work down into the pores as well and are oil soluble.

Generally, salicylic acid is seen as the one to go to if you have a lot of issues with spots, blackheads etc as it really helps with that. Lactic acid is rather gentle and not irritating and best for those with sensitive skin, glycolic acid is the one most people know about and the one i use the most, it is the staple of acid toning!

So, when do you use these? well you can use them morning or night, or even morning and night! but personally i mostly use at night and only use in the morning if i feel like i need the boost. This is the first step on your skin after cleansing, and then after this you follow with a skin hydrating mist to start the hydration process.

So, shall we get into my favourites!

These are the 3 i currently use, though i will also list in a second some honourable mentions! i will say, all the ones i use are glycolic based, that is just what i go for personally and is the most commonly found.

So first up is the Lacura daily cleansing pads £4.95 for 2 packs of 60 pads, i could only find the double packs online but as you can see for the price its very affordable! they are a very obvious dupe of the nip + fab pads (mentioned below) and honestly i cant tell too much of a difference between the two! these contain glycolic acid mainly, and also some fruit acids though they are way farther down the list. The way i use pads like this is i buff over my skin with one side then i flip it and go again, i also will buff and spend longer on spots and areas of concern, these are my go to acid toner id say.

Next is actually the only liquid acid toner ive tried, the Freedom Glycolic radiance toner £6.00, now this one is meant to be a dupe for the pixi glow tonic, i havent tried the glow tonic but i like this one! ive had a few bottles of it now on and off and its a really good budget toner if you would rather soak your own cotton pads, again it is glycolic based, the only thing that puts me off using this sometimes is that it can leave the skin feeling a little sticky, i spray straight after so it doesnt matter too much but its just something to be aware of!

Lastly we have the Superdrug Naturally Radiant glycolic acid daily cleansing pads £5.99, now these are basically the same as the lacura or the nip + fab, they are glycolic based with fruit acids much farther down the list pre-soaked pads.  Theres not much i can say about these that i didnt say about the lacura ones! these are pretty much the same in almost every way.

So those are the 3 i am currently using, the first one i used and still often my go to are of course the nip + fab glycolic fix exfoliating facial pads £13.59. They are slightly up there in price but almost always on sale somewhere! they also now have an “extreme” version (they are not too much stronger dont panic) a sensitive version and a salicylic acid version as well so theres something for everyone there!

Of course there is the famous pixi glow tonic £18.00, it is again up there in price, but if you dont know were to start and can afford a little bit more you are not going to go wrong with this at all!

Mainly when it comes to acid toning, i would say have a look around and go for what you think suits you, try some things out and have fun! i honestly love acid toning its something i brought into my skincare years ago and im very glad i did.

Expensive Products That Are Worth It.

Hey there! So as you might have noticed, i am all about budget items, i havent been able to work in 6 years and even when i did i worked in childcare, and if you know what the pay is like in childcare you know it aint great!

So my whole life i have basically been on a mission to have the large makeup and skincare collection i love, without 6 credit cards and a loan. However, has time has gone on i have found four products that i am willing (i wouldnt go quite as far as to say happy!) but i am willing to pay out for because for me, nothing comes close.

You will see a theme here that all the items are base items, they are items that are the foundation of your makeup or what makeup goes onto. For me personally i have always found that what id call “colour cosmetics” so your eyeshadows, blushers, lipsticks etc cheap is fine, but the stuff that goes onto needs to be reliable and work well.

Now i know theres good dupes for all of this! However for me, these products last me a long old time, sitting there only to be used when i leave the house, and as an agoraphobic that doesnt happen very often!

Anyway shall i stop rambling and show you the products im talking about?

The Smashbox photo finish foundation primer £26.00 is a cult classic, ive been in the blogging/beauty world for many years now, and this is one of those products you saw everywhere around the 2009/2010 mark! its the classic silicone based foundation primer, for me i find that i need a primer with a bit of slip if im using the foundation coming up in this post and this primer is perfect for that. Combined with said foundation my base takes a lot to move and trust me its tested!

The other primer i can not do without is the Nars Smudge proof eyeshadow base £20.00. I can very vividly remember buying my first eyeshadow primer, the urban decay primer potion in the old annoying bottle packaging a week after my 17th birthday. I had been ill, i had a panic attack on the train and i looked awful! but i was bound and determined to get my hands on that primer, bare in mind this was 2009 so eyeshadow primers werent as common as they are now! and i used urban decay eyeshadow primer potion for years, it worked very well on my very oily hooded lids, until it didnt. I dont know what happened, i dont know if they changed the primer or if my eyelids changed but my makeup started creasing within an hour. At the time i was very into watching the anna edit (although she was vivianna does makeup at the time!) so i bit the bullet and ordered this, and honestly im very glad i did!

My lids hate makeup, they are very stubborn but with this eyeshadow primer anything i put on top isnt moving until i remove it and that frankly is some kind of witchcraft, i approve!

Next up is the foundation that everyone knows, of course! its the estee lauder double wear £33.50, now it took me a while to try this foundation but honestly for a very long time foundation was the biggest issue i had. I am very pale, somewhere under 10 years of black hair dye i am very ginger so i have that to work with, my skin is oily/combo, with makeup sucking pores and hormonal spots (thanks PCOS) and a fair wack of scarring. And of course we have my hot flash having, hot blooded self who has extreme anxiety, i needed something that was bullet proof! and this foundation does it, i wear the palest shade of course, shell and its pretty much spot on, sometimes i do add a drop or two of something like the NYX total control drops or the obsession whitening drops but i can also wear it alone fine! this stuff will not budge, with the smashbox primer underneith & applied with a sponge it looks matte but not cakey and it takes some serious stuff to make it move! my holy grail, go to always.

lastly is the latest product to be added to this list and thats the estee lauder double wear stay in place concealer £24.00, now i bought this the last time i double wear because i had a gift card so i wanted to treat myself. I had a good look with my mum and the lovely women on the counter (shout out to estee lauder girls by the way, they have always been a delight and able to deal with a stuttering nervous mess perfectly) and i went for this in the end to go with my foundation. I have it in C1 light cool, which is almost perfect, i tend to mix it with a tiny bit of white concealer if im using it under the eyes just so i get that slightly brighter effect but other than that this stuff is perfect, it will not budge, my under eyes are naturally very creasy so it does crease a little but the actual product doesnt go anywhere! the coverage is also of course brilliant.

Phew! thats a lot of words, so there you have it, do you have any high end products you always buy?

The Goth Tag.

current day me

Hey there! so i tweeted out the other day that i was struggling for blog post ideas and my lovely spooky blogging sister Amy from Asphodel Moon suggested the goth tag. Now if you havent noticed, i do tend to lean pretty heavily on the goth side of things, so this sounded right up my street!

1. How long have you been Goth?
Oh boy! i was around 11/12 when i kept leaning towards things that were more gothic in style, i remember for a while my go-out outfit was always a very long black skirt, a black gyspy top and a red sweat band on my wrist that said “flippin mental”. around 14 was when my “emo phase” fully hit, and then i began to lean more goth again when i was around 17 or so and its continued that way ever since! until i was 16 i kept my naturally bright red hair, but when i was 16 i ditched the awful emo side fringe and dyed my hair dark brown, i think it was 3 months before it was black! and i havent looked back.
2. How were you introduced to Goth?
Honestly it seemed to be something i naturally fell into as i grew up, i cant think of any one thing or person that really got me i just always felt the happiest and the most like me when surrounded in black and lace.
3. What Gothic sub genre would you put yourself in?
Ohh honestly i think i fit in a few! Glam goth/girlie goth for sure, with a heavy side of victorian goth, I think i just tend to go with what i like, and i end up having a bit of everything really!
4. What do you believe to be the basis of the Gothic subculture?
Oh the punk movement for sure! The punk movement was huge, and lined the path so goth could be what it is now for sure. Of course, gothic subculture takes inspiration from a lot of things, like the victorian era.
5. What do you dislike about being Goth?

The judgement really, i mean if your even slightly in the gothic subculture (and even if your not) you know the story of Sophie Lancaster, who was murdered purely because she was goth! In the 11 years since her death the judgement has gotten much better than it used to be, but its no were near what it should be. In an ideal world we should be able to be who we want and it shouldnt mean anything, but it sadly does at the minute.

6. What do your parents think of it?
These days, they just let me get on with it! Now that im 26, they dont really get a say in how i look. When i was a teen there was a lot of talk about my goth “phase”, and when would i stop wearing black and get out of my “phase”. I think for the most part they have learnt that its way more than a phase these days, even if my mum does wonder out loud sometimes if i will wear colour one day! and they both hope i will go back to my natural hair colour one day, which i can understand because it is a rather beautiful rare colour! Though honestly, my extended family tend to be louder than my parents about my style choices!
7. Eyebrows or no eyebrows?
Eyebrows for me, though i wish it wasnt! i dont really have much to start with, and what i do have is very blonde so it would be much easier if i just didnt have eyebrows but at the same time i dont know if im brave enough for that! i have a pretty full heavy fringe and that tends to cover them most of the time.
8. What is your favourite band?
Honestly, likely disturbed! I dont tend to listen to super heavy stuff its just never really been me, but a couple of years ago i got very into disturbed thanks to a few friends and i have been obsessed ever since.
9. How do you feel about Marilyn Manson?
I dont really have an opinion on him, i know hes done some not good things and his music really doesnt interest me so i dont really think about him!
14/15 year old me, complete with myspace pose.
16 year old me, webcam picture oh wow.

10. What were your baby bat days like?

ooh boy, they were varied! as i mentioned above the first of the goth days were a long black skirt, a black gypsy top and a red sweat band that said “flippin mental” on! i also remember loving a black long skirt that had a load of different hem lengths paired with a black vest top, black boots and a red hoodie! this would of been around 2005/2006. When i hit my full emo phase, we are talking black leggings, a denim skirt, a black t-shirt with a skull or betty boop!, black arm warmer, enough black liner to re-stock boots, a side fringe straight over my glasses that looked awful and chipped black polish! or another personal favourite, black leggings, black ra-ra short skirt with a star print, black vest top with a black waist coat, black arm warmers, loads of liner, chipped polish and you guessed it, the stupid fringe!

feel free to do this, and please show me if you do!

Natures Alchemist Balancing clay Face Mask.

Hey There! So a few weeks ago i posted a superdrug & boots order that i made to pick up some pampering products for my birthday. One of the products i got is this the Natures Alchemist balancing clay face mask £6.99, now honestly i bought it thinking it would be that kind of pore cleaning clay mask but it isnt really like that. Its more something made to balance and calm stressed calm, so honestly its still up my ally! but what was even more interesting once i had it in my hands is that its a 2 in 1! you can also use it as a cleanser, colour me curious! its also vegan, gluten free and contains no parabens which is all of course becoming more and more important.

So on the back it says that if you want to use it as a cleanser you use a small amount on damp skin massaging until theres a lather and then splash off…shudder, Can we all start praying to the alter of caroline hirons please and stop it with the “lather” and the “splash off”.

first off, this doesnt lather and i mean it, i have tried to lather it and it just doesnt and secondly good luck splashing this off, your gonna be splashing for a while!. If you can get past the out dated directions on the back this is actually a really nice clay cleanser, which im really happy about because ive wanted a clay cleanser for a while.

How i use it, is i use around a 5p sized amount and massage onto either dry skin or skin that ive just cleansed with a oil or balm (so using this as a second cleanse) and once ive massaged this onto my skin for a bit i then use a damp flannel to remove. It really does live up to the stressed skin claims because its very calming, it feels cool on the skin and cleanses without upsetting which as been very nice lately for my hormonal stressed anxiety ridden face.

So, how does it do as a mask? well wait for it, we have outdated directions to make caroline hirons shudder again first “spread on a thick layer, leave for 5 minutes then remove with damp cotton wool”, damp cotton wool?? are you mad?? of course, i removed it with a flannel.

Honestly, and this is rather funny considering what its marketed as and what i bought it has but i prefer it as a cleanser than a mask. It didnt do anything bad as a mask, but it just felt like i left my cleanser on for a while before i removed it, now it is very cooling so if my skin was throwing all the toys out of the pram and having a right old tantrum i think it would be really good to calm my skin down but i dont think it did too much for me right now.

I honestly think that if they rebranded this as a clay cleanser it would do rather well, and if they started telling us to remove it with a flannel and stopping claiming that it will lather.

So did i get the pore cleansing mask i wanted? no, but i did get a clay cleanser and im happy with that!

Emotionally Broken – Learning how to stand up for yourself.

Hey, so for me one of my biggest issues that ive had through out my entire life honestly is that i can be quite the push over. I will always put everyone else first and saying no to someone has never been on the top of my skills list! When nasty people have come my way i tend to just take it and let it happen, never standing up and saying any different. Ive had many bad friendships in the past because i tend to never have enough strength i suppose to move on from bad relationships.

But over the past few years ive slowly began to get it a bit better, and now a days im much better at it than i used to be! i still tend to put everyone first, and i still struggle with saying no but im not walked over as much as i used too be.

And honestly? the biggest thing that has helped this is finding good friends and people that want to build me up, not down. I had become so used to knowing people that weren’t good for me it actually has taken me a long time to believe people and i still dont always fully believe it when my friends say nice things about me! Its not easy after you have spent most of your life being ok with your friends being your bullies.

Now, i have friends that have completely got my back, and having that kind of support does make it easier to tell the nastier people to fuck off! Another thing thats helped is running a group, i run a guild in world of warcraft (yes, my nerd is showing) and because of this you do have to be willing to tell people were to go sometimes. People need me to keep the group a safe happy place, you dont get that by being a doormat!

I have felt these days a new found attitude, now dont get me wrong im not suddenly a diva but ive found an attitude i really enjoy! a good example would be the other day, we kept getting these fake phonecalls from BT (we are not with them!) saying there was something wrong with our internet connection. I knew this wasnt true what so ever, but they kept phoning and after my mum answered the phone to them for the 3rd time in 5 minutes i asked her to hand the phone over and i said to them “our line is fine, i know your bullshitting us and if you dont stop phoning us i will call the police” just as i hung up i heard the person on the phone go “ok mam goodbye!”, safe to say they never phoned back!

I would of never have done that even a few months ago, im finding my oompf thats for sure and its a good feeling, it only took me 26 years! but it really does show how very important a good strong support system is. And of course ive had my family but thats different because family is your comfort zone, they dont really tend to push you forward were as the right kind of friends do.

It doesnt mean im perfect, standing up for myself tends to include a lot of stuttering, tears and chocolate but im much better than i used to be and the attitude ive developed to be honest is fun! and it hasnt got me in trouble….yet.

So if your like me, have a look at your life and figure out what is making you keep your mouth shut. Is it a past problem? family? friends? figure it out and sort it out, and then work on knowing when to say no! trust me, its worth it.

The ordinary 100% plant derived squalane.

Hey there! so the other week i made an order on Asos and when i spotted that they stocked the ordinary there was no way i wasnt picking a few things up! You would have to be living under the rock to have not heard of the ordinary over the past year or so, coming from parent company deciem the ordinary is a line of skincare that is normally very hard to find at a good price, at a very good price! I have tried the ordinary foundations, primer & the hyaluronic acid, and i used the hyaluronic up to the very last drop so i knew i wanted to try more from them.

before i get into the product, i will say that yes im aware of the situation with deciem on instagram but personally for me that doesnt take away how good the ordinary products are and as someone who adores skincare but doesnt have a massive budget its amazing for me and thats what im going to focus on over what happens on social media.

100% plant-derived squalane £5.50 is what caught my eye, now the ordinary can be a bit difficult to navigate so i do suggest doing some research into what everything is and picking what is best for you. For me when it comes to serums and oils i mainly want something that is going to hydrate has that tends to be what my skin wants, so when i spotted this it sounded perfect exactly the kind of thing i want to use in the evenings.

Squalane is found naturally in our bodies, its part of our skins natural moisture, its also found in various plants and sharks liver hence why they pointed out it was plant-derived!

The ordinary say that its for surface hydration, good for those with dryer skins but suitable for everyone and its also very good to apply to your hair for heat protection! it is basically at its very core a hydrating oil, and i have found that is exactly what it does.

They say to apply this after any water based treatments, so normally for me i tend to go double cleanse-acid toner-spritz-squalane-moisturiser. You really dont need much, a few drops is more than enough! then i do the “therapist swipe” (caroline hirons anyone?) before applying to my face, a therapist swipe by the way is just a quick swipe with your hands so your hands both have product without doing the dreaded “warming up” of the product!

Now i will say, yes it feels like you are putting oil on your face because you are! however give it a minute or two, and especially once you have your moisturiser on there isnt any issues regarding greasy or oily ness anymore, it does sink it very quickly.

I really like how plump and just hydrated my skin feels when i use this, i have noticed that bringing an oil back in my routine has does wonders for my skin! i should of  brought an oil bought into my routine a long time ago but im glad this one seems to work so well for me!

have you tried this? or any of the ordinary products?

Pink Parcel August 2018.

Hey! So this months pink parcel arrived a few days ago, and normally my aim is to get my pink parcel posts up as soon as i possibly can but i had to wait for an email from them first. I got a bit annoyed with this months, because a lot of the contents of the box was plastered all over my facebook in the adverts since the beginning of the month, ruining the surprise! according to pink parcel only the hero products in the box should of been shown, i still personally feel there shouldnt be anything from that months on social media but what can you do.

For those that didnt see my first post on pink parcel, pink parcel is a monthly subscription service for people who have periods! you can tailor it to be sent at any time in the month, and it contains pads or tampons of your choice, as well as a small box of goodies for you as well. Its very good value and one of the biggest things it helps with for me is that i dont run out anymore! has someone that cant leave the house much, it helps a lot.

Anyway, the theme for this month is holiday essentials, and its also worth over £50 which is pretty impressive! you may notice that the normal for now bag isnt there, i did ask about that in the email too and they had just ran out so we have two for night time this month, thats fine, happens!

So, whats inside?

So, in every pink parcel you always get a tea bag and some sort of sweet treat.

So for the tea bag this time we actually got a coffee bag? alright! anyway its lyons No3 coffee in a bag £2.60 for 125g (we get a bag). i am not a tea or coffee drinker so this will go to the coffee addict that is my dad, however i do admittedly find this a bit odd considering caffeine is meant to make cramps that much worse.

The sweet treat for this month is the Candy kittens eton mess gourmet sweets £1 for a treat bag (we got a treat bag). I have heard so much about these! of course the fact that they are cat shaped sells me quite a bit, and seeing has ive been vegetarian for 13 years i havent really been able to have sweets like these but these are vegetarian, woo!

The first item we got is a spacemasks eye masks £15 for 5 (we got one), now ive seen these doing the rounds lately and they look rather interesting! basically they are one use eye masks that heat up when you take them out of there little packets because of the iron inside them hitting oxygen. I like this idea, and galaxy things is always a hit in my book! im having a lot of sleep related problems right now, so i am going to have a rest with this one day, and likely nod off!

Next up, is oryza dewy glow balm £11.95, so i gotta be honest, i was interested when i first saw this “ooh glow balm!” but im actually disappointed to be honest. It is just a vasline like balm, its full of “good” oils according to the label, but honestly it just seems to be one of those balms.

Next up we have the laritzy dew pot in glory £20.00, this is a multi-purpose cream highlighter. now sadly you could get 6 shades in this and of course i get the gold one! so i wont using this, it looks creamy however!

Next up is the English laundry no7 for her purse spray £16.00, we have had little spray perfumes before but i havent been keen. however i really like this one! the description says there are notes of sparkling pear, jasmine, melon and apricot, i dont really know if i smell any of them or not (im good at this) but i do think it smells really fresh and clean, im very picky with perfumes but i like this one!

Sebamed clear face mattifying cream £5.69 is our last product, we got a sample size of this moisturiser. I havent used this yet, its a oily controlling moisturiser that helps reduce blackheads and spots, ive tried it on my hand and it does feel very light.

So all in all i do like this box! im sad a few of the products were spoiled for me, but i like the perfume, the eye mask, the sweets! the highlighter just isnt the right colour for me, a balm is a balm and the moisturiser is meh but i am so keen on the perfume it weighs it evenly!

Do you get pink parcel? what did you think?

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

Hey! So i bought recently a travel essentials box from ASOS full of mini travel sizes, and i bought it because i thought it would be perfect so i could try a few things out that i had wanted to try for a while and tell you lot! i had wanted to make a post about the box too but by the time my box arrived it was sadly sold out.

So, Too Faced better than sex mascara £19.00 is of course a cult mascara, ever since it came out people have lost there minds over it falling in love with this mascara all over the place. Of course, the number one thing everyones focused on is the name,  of course calling something better than sex is a bold claim!

Its an interesting line to go down for a mascara, but it does do what its meant too, it makes people want to try it! so when i got this mini, this was put on my test list straight away.

So they have a long story about how the brush is modelled on a “blonde haired siren” which you can quickly tell is meant to be marilyn monroe, i dont know if the brush is exactly modelled on her, but it is a bristle brush in a hourglass shape.

the mascara formula itself is rather dry, very dry to be honest i was worried mine had ran out! but that could also be because i have a sample, but yeah its rather dry.

So ill be honest that going in i didnt want to like this mascara, i didnt want to fall for the gimmick of the name and i didnt want to like a mascara when the full size is £19….that didnt work out.

The first coat is rather underwhelming, it does coat the lashes very nicely however and i do find that this brush really can grip will onto them. it separates well and leaves lashes lengthened and honestly much more natural looking than i expected this mascara to look! second coat and the drama does begin to appear, it looks lengthened and septrated still but with much more volume, not a clump in sight! the only thing i didnt like at this point was that it had already made the curl in my lashes drop, but then again this does tend to happen regardless of the mascara that i am wearing!

So i wore this mascara over a 8/9 hour period, during this time i had watery eyes a couple of times, and it was only at the very end of the night did i have one or two flakes a tiny bit of mascara in the corner of my eye from when i cried from laughter!

so i really wanted to dislike this mascara, but really i like it a lot! it lasts a long time, it looks really nice with no clumps and the wand is lovely.

the name may be a gimmick, but the actual product is brilliant!
