Evil Widower halloween makeup.

Revolution conceal & define full coverage foundation.

Hey there! So, erm shiny things are really annoying to photograph aint they? because this was a bloody nightmare! but worth it, because this is the foundation everyone and there mother has been talking about lately, the Revolution conceal & define full coverage foundation £9.00. Revolution have been on fire, they are releasing new products every week at least! when they brought out this foundation to match there very popular concealer in the same range (that they brought out in supersize at the same time) it hit youtube and blogs in a wave.

I knew i wanted to try it, but decided i would wait until i wanted to make a revolution order to try it. Glad i did because there halloween range came out a few weeks later!

This foundation is meant to be a creamy, comfortable formula with a buildable coverage and sets to a demi-matte finish. It comes in 24 shades, its a pretty wide range but of course it could always be better! I got the palest shade, F0.5 which is fair with pink undertones.

I thought it would finally actually be pale enough for me, and it is pale enough for sure, but i actually think it might be slightly too pink! rare for me, because i am pink toned, but it does pull a tiny bit pink on me.

Considering the price, the packaging is really nice! a glass bottle with a giant doe foot applicator. I haven’t had a foundation with this kind of applicator before, i like it but i am scared every time i pull the wand out that its going to splatter everywhere!

First off this foundation is pretty high coverage! you dont need that much of it, and it covers any discolouration, dark circles and most spots in the first coat, i only needed to build it up slightly on very annoyed spots etc and it does build up very easily.

I would call the finish it gives more of a matte finish than a demi matte finish honestly. Even though i did set it, because i always test any foundation the way i would wear it, it really didnt need it when first applied at least.

I tested it out two slightly different ways on my combo/oily skin, first time i used the smashbox photo finish primer and then i dotted the foundation onto my face using the applicator and blended it out using a sponge (i used the real techiques sponge). It blends out very easily, sponge is for sure the way to go with this, it blends quickly and easily without any fuss really!

I then set everything using my elf setting powder, applied contour/blusher/highlighter as normal and left it be. i wore it for about 7 hours this day, i wasnt doing a whole lot, mainly sat at my pc, however it was put to the test with some kitchen dancing! at the 2 & 4 hour mark it still looked exactly as it had (minus my glasses marks). However by hour 7 my nose was rather oily and at least some of the foundation on my nose was gone for sure, the foundation around my mouth and nose had faded too and i was shine city! however for 7 hours, i have seen worse wear for sure, but it wasnt perfect.

Next time i tried it, i was very brave for me because if i have to go out normally i would always wear my estee lauder double wear. It honestly scares me to wear anything else! but i wore this foundation going to therapy last week. I started it off the same, smashbox photo finish primer but this time i used the soap & glory one heck of a blot primer on my nose, i then used the foundation applied in the exact same way as before. I did use concealer this time for under my eyes, the matching revolution conceal & define concealer mixed with a bit of the foundation and whitening drops as its a bit dark for me, that went on completely fine. Then i set everything with my elf setting powder, and applied my contour/blusher/highlighter as normal, however it was at this point i noticed my nose. It looked awful, very cakey and powdery, so i removed the foundation just from my nose alone, then reapplied the smashbox primer, foundation and powder and it was fine, so this foundation for me at least is one of those that needs a silicone based primer or its dry cakey city.

I was wearing this foundation for maybe 3 hours? but this time i was moving around, though not very much! just like, getting in the car, going up stairs etc. once home i tried on some dresses, and while this didnt make me sweat it did heat me up a bit! i looked in the mirror at this point and saw that the foundation had sort of oxidised? it was odd, but it was looking even pinker than it had before! my glasses situation was also really bad, now my glasses are in dire need of replacing so they dont really stay in one place anymore but pretty much were ever the glasses had touched even a little bit the foundation was gone, and there was a tiny bit of caking on my chin but nothing really noticeable.

In conclusion honestly this is a pretty good foundation! but its just not perfect, it may be my skin type or the way ive tried it that causes those issues who knows! and the issues i had really are not a big deal, if i still wore makeup everyday this really would be a perfect everyday foundation i think, but because i dont and i need a foundation that basically doesnt cause me anxiety its not quite there, very close however!

have you tried this? what did you think?

What Makeup Means To Me.

Hey There! So, i think a lot of people would of rolled there eyes at the title of this post, but bare with me. Even in this day and age people can be so judgemental about makeup and peoples love of it, but for me makeup really has been so much more than just cosmetics over the years.

The early years.

Ive always loved makeup, from the moment my auntie got me a red heart shaped play makeup case when i was 5, i loved playing and messing with it. But it didnt play any kind of bigger part in my life than that at this point.

For years i did a small amount of makeup, powder, lipgloss, shimmery light eyeshadows that kind of thing, and always painting my nails!

But on my 14th birthday i asked my mum if she could help me choose a mascara, she helped me pick a brown one because im naturally ginger and it set me off on a massive makeup journey that year. By my 15th i was wearing full heavy smokey eyes daily.

The teen years.

From that moment that i tried out coloured mascara for the first time i was very hooked, i wore it daily and i quickly went from wearing just mascara daily too foundation, concealer, powder, eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara daily! this was also when my style went very goth/emo so of course enough eyeliner to put my chemical romance to shame was part of my uniform at that point.

My teen years where tough for a lot of reasons, my mental health issues became a real problem at this point and makeup for sure became my safety blanket. I would have a fit if it wouldn’t go right, i would get really frustrated when no one seemingly understood why makeup was so important. Too me, it was how i expressed myself, it was my identity, it was my trademark and the idea of not having that really upset me. It became a way that i coped, sometimes even re-doing my makeup a few times a day, It was extremely important to me and this was were makeup really got its importance for me. I wouldnt leave the house without it, when i started to volunteer and such having to do less makeup than my normal 50 tonnes of eyeliner wasnt something i was very happy about! I still managed to get away with more makeup than i think they wanted me too!

Growing up.

Getting my first job, i very quickly got my makeup routine down so that it was enough that i was comfortable, but it was quick (for me!) and i could do it at 6 in the morning if needed. Not wearing makeup wasnt an option still, but i knew exactly what i was doing now, these few years where i worked for sure was where i started to feel happier in myself and comfortable with the makeup i wore. I still wore it as an expression of myself, but it wasnt quite so much the comfort blanket it once was anymore.

Twenties.

And then my anxiety and the like barrelled back into my life full speed and things changed for me again. Makeup was my comfort and one of the ways i felt confident enough to face the outside world, it was my armour and the way i showed who i was. The worse my mental health has gotten the more ive lent on makeup as a way to feel ok, its a way i cope, its a way i calm down.

its also been a way ive reached so many other people, how ive made friends and been a part of amazing communities, doing youtube & blogging over the years has been amazing and not something i would ever want to stop, since coming back to blogging ive been reminded how much i love it.

But of course, due to it being so important to me its been a source of anxiety as well. My anxiety will tell me i dont deserve to have the makeup i do, or to play with it. It will tell me im no good at it, or that i shouldn’t even bother. I go through stages, and it sucks because i wish i could just have an easy relationship with something that i love so much.

As you can see, makeup as meant many different things to me over the years, but one thing thats been a continious theme is that its an expression of who i am. The smokey eyes, the purple, the glitter, its all me and thats my favourite thing about makeup, it can be so very personal and no one does there makeup quite like anyone else does.

The Discontinued Woes.

Hey there! so if you have been into beauty for a few years at least you will know that feeling when you go to buy one of your holy grail products and you suddenly cant find it anywhere, you look all over the internet and you see those words “discontinued”.

For some reason, i seem to be plagued with this, the minute i find something i really love it gets discontinued! the other side of this problem i have is that i often buy discounted makeup either online or in poundland etc and quite often once you have found these things once they are hard to find again, and its so frustrating!

So i thought i would share my woes, and show you some of the products i really wish were not discontinued!

First up we have my nail polish problems, for some reason i always really like nail polishes that are either limited edition or get discontinued once i find them!

This is a ciate nail paint pot, the bottom says the colour is “cant be kinky” though after i did some googling the original is actually called “can it be kinky”, i bought my first bottle of this in TKmaxx. Its a really deep deep purple it basically looks black on the nail but its part of the nail varnish combo ive done for a while now! and annoyingly, i found this second bottle on ebay but since then i just cant find any, i think the “can it be kinky” was limited edition, and i found “cant be kinky” because it was default due to the typo! i am really sad that i cant find another bottle of this though.

This rather sad looking bottle is Revlons scented nail polish in grape fizz, i adore this super glittery purple nail polish topper, however it was discontinued years ago. I tend to feed my addiction through ebay and i just cross my fingers i can do that for a while yet but i have my doubts!

Finally in the nail polishes we have the maybelline superstay nail polish in purple reflects. I originally bought this off of fragrance direct and i adore it, what i tend to do is do a coat of cant be kinky, then a coat of purple reflects topped off with a coat of grape fizz. However its not sold on fragrance direct anymore, i can at the minute still find it on ebay but of course thats not gonna happen forever.

Please nail polish companies stop discontinuing pretty purple polishes!

Oh makeup, i have had so many discontinued problems its funny at this point, i always fall in love with a product that then gets discontinued!

First up is the maybelline dream matte powder in rose nude, this powder, oh this powder! it was part of the dream matte range and was in boots, superdrug etc for a while. I love this powder, its very soft it matches my skin perfectly and keeps me matte without caking! what more could you need, but sadly i ran out once, went to get some and it was gone so for years afterwards i started buying it on ebay, it seemed to still be sold in france of all places so i was buying a lot of powders that i couldnt read! it took a while but in the end i just cant find it anywhere anymore and im so sad, it was such a good powder i dont know why it was discontinued!

It seems that maybelline is quite the culprit in discontinuing things because my next product is also maybelline, its the maybelline colour tattoo in timeless black. This is a really annoying one! i have really hooded oily eyelids so i really need to use an eyeshadow primer and then a long lasting cream shadow too, and a few years ago i found that the colour tattoos finally came in a matte black! perfect! but they last so long that when i went to buy another it was gone from superdrug etc. I ended up finding it on fragrance direct, however when i went back to reorder its gone, im hoping i can find it somewhere else or find a good replacement.

Finally, this is the oldest discontinued item i can think of, and its the 17 va va voom eyeshadow palette (obviously i dont use this anymore!). This eyeshadow palette was a limited edition gift with purchase around 9/10 years ago! this palette was what started me using purple eyeshadow on a daily basis, the purple in this palette was my thing, and when i used up the purple in the palette i got, i started buying them on ebay, i did this for years! i had a collection of 17 palettes all with the purple gone or almost gone and the other colours all untouched. It took me many, many years to start finding different purples  that worked for me, but now looking back this was actually a really bad eyeshadow!

I cant be the only one with discontinued woes, what favourite product of yours got discontinued? any suggestions to replace my discontinued products?

Boots bonus points offer haul.

Hey there! so a week or so ago boots had a offer on because it was the 21st anniversary of the advantage card, so they were doing 21 points per pound spent! yes please! you had to spend over £60. But lets face it that isnt exactly a hard thing to do! i had a couple of things i needed, but the rest i picked up because i wanted to try them and/or thought they would be good for the blog, so here it all is!

So first up is all the face, body and hair care that i picked up! this is where i spent my bulk, ill be honest.

i picked up two bottles of the zingy mango and papaya shower gel  75p, i am very fond of cheap good smelling shower gel! but so is everyone else that shares my bathroom, so lots of bottles it is.

Nail polish remover £1, because well i needed it.

boots smooth care hair removal cream £3.49, because same reason.

i picked up two skincare products from soap & glory, ive tried both of these before but a while ago now! i picked up the soap & glory peaches and clean deep cleansing milk £8.00 and the soap & glory speed plump overnight miracle moisture mousse £14.00. The cleansing milk was my go to morning cleanse and second cleanse for over a year years ago, and i am so happy to have it back! its a wonderful cleanser, feels lovely on the skin but has that extra zing to it. The mousse has a lovely almost butter like texture to it, and sinks in so well, im glad to have these back!

I grabbed another tube of the garnier skin active matcha detox face mask £5.99, this is such a lovely face mask for when you want a deep clean for your skin. my skin is stressed and hormonal right now and this mask felt wonderful on, its cooling and feels like its doing something, maybe it doesnt but it feels good! and my previous tube was down to the last drops.

Garnier ultimate blends coconut oil treatment mask £4.99, how many of these have i had in blog posts now? i love these masks.

No7 nourishing cleansing balm £13.00, thanks to the hashtag #carolinehironsmademedoit and the skincare freaks facebook group my skincare obsession is right back into swing! i tend to swing between makeup and skincare, skincare it is at the minute, i was doing the 3 for 2 items thing and i spotted that this was one of the options and scooped it straight up. always looking for good budget balm and oil cleansers!

so onto the makeup i bought! the masqd sponge was a free gift when you buy kind of thing, will be interesting to try.

i spent ages looking at various makeup items, always going back to NYX as i so often do! they have this really cool gothic looking collection at the moment but after looking at everything i just knew i had too much like it or i wouldnt use it. I got my heart set on a blusher, and then i spotted this and i was sold, its the NYX ombre blush in codebreaker £9.00, a really bright purpley pink mixed with a purple.

I needed a new black pencil liner so i picked up this one from NYX  the slide on eye pencil £6.50, ive only swatched it but its very creamy!

finally, if you have followed beauty news for a while you would know that boots own brand 17 was discontinued a few months ago. But i found that some of there items were still on the website with a very heavy discount! I was very excited to find that the 17 staytime concealer in extra fair was there, for 90p! so i picked up three of them, obviously.

I also spotted a shadow for £1 in purple, so i couldnt leave that now could i?

Anyway thats everything i picked up! ive been spending a lot lately, i need to rein it back a bit, she says!

Obsession ultimate marble brush set.

Hey there! so a couple of weeks ago i was looking around for a brush cleaner, for years ive been fine just using a cheap shampoo or the vanish soap bar but for whatever reason i just couldnt get my brushes clean anymore. It didnt matter how much time i took over each brush they were not getting clean! so i thought i would pick up a brush cleaner to see if that helped.

I looked in the revolution sale because of course i hoped i would find something cheap! And i did there solid brush cleaner was £3, but then i spotted this set, it would normally be £60 but for £15 i would get a collection of those weird toothbrush like makeup brushes to try, a sponge (a silicone blender that i knew i wouldnt touch) and of course the brush cleaner. It felt like a no brainer, so i of course picked up the set, the obsession ultimate marble brush set £15.00 being the one in question.

So first off, the brushes are odd but cool! they are pretty soft but that does also differ depending on the brush. For example the big one is the most densely packed, so isnt quite as soft as the smaller ones but none are tough or scratchy.

I have too say, the big one applies foundation very quickly and without streaking etc! its a bit weird to use but once you have figured that out, and there is a learning curve that comes with all these brushes you are good to go and it does apply foundation really well! the other ones are all good for varying cream products, i do tend to go for cream products with these! i also found the small one with a rounded tip worked super well for lipsticks, score!

Next up, the sponge is well a sponge! its not the softest nicest sponge ive used, but it is a very pretty looking sponge that works very well.

So we get to the reason i bought the set, the brush cleaner! has i said, i was really struggling to get my brushes to be clean, and i hoped this would help, and thankfully it did! just not quite enough, but it did help! basically you wet your brush, swirl it in the soap until you get a lather going then swirl it in your hand or on a brush cleaning mat and rinse until clean. i did find that it got most of my brushes clean, cleaner than they have been in ages! the only downside was that a few of my brushes, i think around 2 just wouldn’t get quite clean, but that could just be that they are too far gone however this brush cleaner did help a bit with them! it also did really well on sponges too. One thing i did find was that sometimes you will have to rinse the actual soap itself has all the brushes with different colours go in there you get some interesting lather! but thats not really a problem.

So all in all i really liked this set, its quite a bargain! im glad i picked this during my need a brush cleaner/buy all the things spree lately.

Acid Toning – why do it & my favourites.

Hey there! so today i wanted to chat to you about acid toning, why it can be a very good step in your skincare routine & my personal favourite acid toners!

Before i begin however i will just state that i am no expert, i am not trained and this is just what i know from my own research and trail and error! if your ever concerned, you should of course always ask a professional.

It is also very important to know that if you acid tone you must wear an spf during the day! you should be wearing one regardless, but with acid toning its even more important.

If you havent really heard much about acid toning before you have likely read the word “acid” and been a bit freaked out! when acid toning first became a more mainstream thing everyone had the same kind of reaction, myself included until you learn a bit more about it.

So acid toning is using a toner or pre-soaked pad that contains a gentle AHA or BHA acid in the normal toner stage, and what this does is it gets to work on the skin eating away at dead skin without using very harsh scrubs etc. It also kills off bacteria extremely well so its very good for spots, and helps to fade scars over time as well.

Theres 3 main acids you will find, glycolic, lactic and salicylic acid. glycolic and lactic are AHAs, and salicylic is a BHA, whats the difference? well according to the paulas choice website here AHAs work on the skins surface and are water soluble were as BHAs work down into the pores as well and are oil soluble.

Generally, salicylic acid is seen as the one to go to if you have a lot of issues with spots, blackheads etc as it really helps with that. Lactic acid is rather gentle and not irritating and best for those with sensitive skin, glycolic acid is the one most people know about and the one i use the most, it is the staple of acid toning!

So, when do you use these? well you can use them morning or night, or even morning and night! but personally i mostly use at night and only use in the morning if i feel like i need the boost. This is the first step on your skin after cleansing, and then after this you follow with a skin hydrating mist to start the hydration process.

So, shall we get into my favourites!

These are the 3 i currently use, though i will also list in a second some honourable mentions! i will say, all the ones i use are glycolic based, that is just what i go for personally and is the most commonly found.

So first up is the Lacura daily cleansing pads £4.95 for 2 packs of 60 pads, i could only find the double packs online but as you can see for the price its very affordable! they are a very obvious dupe of the nip + fab pads (mentioned below) and honestly i cant tell too much of a difference between the two! these contain glycolic acid mainly, and also some fruit acids though they are way farther down the list. The way i use pads like this is i buff over my skin with one side then i flip it and go again, i also will buff and spend longer on spots and areas of concern, these are my go to acid toner id say.

Next is actually the only liquid acid toner ive tried, the Freedom Glycolic radiance toner £6.00, now this one is meant to be a dupe for the pixi glow tonic, i havent tried the glow tonic but i like this one! ive had a few bottles of it now on and off and its a really good budget toner if you would rather soak your own cotton pads, again it is glycolic based, the only thing that puts me off using this sometimes is that it can leave the skin feeling a little sticky, i spray straight after so it doesnt matter too much but its just something to be aware of!

Lastly we have the Superdrug Naturally Radiant glycolic acid daily cleansing pads £5.99, now these are basically the same as the lacura or the nip + fab, they are glycolic based with fruit acids much farther down the list pre-soaked pads.  Theres not much i can say about these that i didnt say about the lacura ones! these are pretty much the same in almost every way.

So those are the 3 i am currently using, the first one i used and still often my go to are of course the nip + fab glycolic fix exfoliating facial pads £13.59. They are slightly up there in price but almost always on sale somewhere! they also now have an “extreme” version (they are not too much stronger dont panic) a sensitive version and a salicylic acid version as well so theres something for everyone there!

Of course there is the famous pixi glow tonic £18.00, it is again up there in price, but if you dont know were to start and can afford a little bit more you are not going to go wrong with this at all!

Mainly when it comes to acid toning, i would say have a look around and go for what you think suits you, try some things out and have fun! i honestly love acid toning its something i brought into my skincare years ago and im very glad i did.

Expensive Products That Are Worth It.

Hey there! So as you might have noticed, i am all about budget items, i havent been able to work in 6 years and even when i did i worked in childcare, and if you know what the pay is like in childcare you know it aint great!

So my whole life i have basically been on a mission to have the large makeup and skincare collection i love, without 6 credit cards and a loan. However, has time has gone on i have found four products that i am willing (i wouldnt go quite as far as to say happy!) but i am willing to pay out for because for me, nothing comes close.

You will see a theme here that all the items are base items, they are items that are the foundation of your makeup or what makeup goes onto. For me personally i have always found that what id call “colour cosmetics” so your eyeshadows, blushers, lipsticks etc cheap is fine, but the stuff that goes onto needs to be reliable and work well.

Now i know theres good dupes for all of this! However for me, these products last me a long old time, sitting there only to be used when i leave the house, and as an agoraphobic that doesnt happen very often!

Anyway shall i stop rambling and show you the products im talking about?

The Smashbox photo finish foundation primer £26.00 is a cult classic, ive been in the blogging/beauty world for many years now, and this is one of those products you saw everywhere around the 2009/2010 mark! its the classic silicone based foundation primer, for me i find that i need a primer with a bit of slip if im using the foundation coming up in this post and this primer is perfect for that. Combined with said foundation my base takes a lot to move and trust me its tested!

The other primer i can not do without is the Nars Smudge proof eyeshadow base £20.00. I can very vividly remember buying my first eyeshadow primer, the urban decay primer potion in the old annoying bottle packaging a week after my 17th birthday. I had been ill, i had a panic attack on the train and i looked awful! but i was bound and determined to get my hands on that primer, bare in mind this was 2009 so eyeshadow primers werent as common as they are now! and i used urban decay eyeshadow primer potion for years, it worked very well on my very oily hooded lids, until it didnt. I dont know what happened, i dont know if they changed the primer or if my eyelids changed but my makeup started creasing within an hour. At the time i was very into watching the anna edit (although she was vivianna does makeup at the time!) so i bit the bullet and ordered this, and honestly im very glad i did!

My lids hate makeup, they are very stubborn but with this eyeshadow primer anything i put on top isnt moving until i remove it and that frankly is some kind of witchcraft, i approve!

Next up is the foundation that everyone knows, of course! its the estee lauder double wear £33.50, now it took me a while to try this foundation but honestly for a very long time foundation was the biggest issue i had. I am very pale, somewhere under 10 years of black hair dye i am very ginger so i have that to work with, my skin is oily/combo, with makeup sucking pores and hormonal spots (thanks PCOS) and a fair wack of scarring. And of course we have my hot flash having, hot blooded self who has extreme anxiety, i needed something that was bullet proof! and this foundation does it, i wear the palest shade of course, shell and its pretty much spot on, sometimes i do add a drop or two of something like the NYX total control drops or the obsession whitening drops but i can also wear it alone fine! this stuff will not budge, with the smashbox primer underneith & applied with a sponge it looks matte but not cakey and it takes some serious stuff to make it move! my holy grail, go to always.

lastly is the latest product to be added to this list and thats the estee lauder double wear stay in place concealer £24.00, now i bought this the last time i double wear because i had a gift card so i wanted to treat myself. I had a good look with my mum and the lovely women on the counter (shout out to estee lauder girls by the way, they have always been a delight and able to deal with a stuttering nervous mess perfectly) and i went for this in the end to go with my foundation. I have it in C1 light cool, which is almost perfect, i tend to mix it with a tiny bit of white concealer if im using it under the eyes just so i get that slightly brighter effect but other than that this stuff is perfect, it will not budge, my under eyes are naturally very creasy so it does crease a little but the actual product doesnt go anywhere! the coverage is also of course brilliant.

Phew! thats a lot of words, so there you have it, do you have any high end products you always buy?

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara.

Hey! So i bought recently a travel essentials box from ASOS full of mini travel sizes, and i bought it because i thought it would be perfect so i could try a few things out that i had wanted to try for a while and tell you lot! i had wanted to make a post about the box too but by the time my box arrived it was sadly sold out.

So, Too Faced better than sex mascara £19.00 is of course a cult mascara, ever since it came out people have lost there minds over it falling in love with this mascara all over the place. Of course, the number one thing everyones focused on is the name,  of course calling something better than sex is a bold claim!

Its an interesting line to go down for a mascara, but it does do what its meant too, it makes people want to try it! so when i got this mini, this was put on my test list straight away.

So they have a long story about how the brush is modelled on a “blonde haired siren” which you can quickly tell is meant to be marilyn monroe, i dont know if the brush is exactly modelled on her, but it is a bristle brush in a hourglass shape.

the mascara formula itself is rather dry, very dry to be honest i was worried mine had ran out! but that could also be because i have a sample, but yeah its rather dry.

So ill be honest that going in i didnt want to like this mascara, i didnt want to fall for the gimmick of the name and i didnt want to like a mascara when the full size is £19….that didnt work out.

The first coat is rather underwhelming, it does coat the lashes very nicely however and i do find that this brush really can grip will onto them. it separates well and leaves lashes lengthened and honestly much more natural looking than i expected this mascara to look! second coat and the drama does begin to appear, it looks lengthened and septrated still but with much more volume, not a clump in sight! the only thing i didnt like at this point was that it had already made the curl in my lashes drop, but then again this does tend to happen regardless of the mascara that i am wearing!

So i wore this mascara over a 8/9 hour period, during this time i had watery eyes a couple of times, and it was only at the very end of the night did i have one or two flakes a tiny bit of mascara in the corner of my eye from when i cried from laughter!

so i really wanted to dislike this mascara, but really i like it a lot! it lasts a long time, it looks really nice with no clumps and the wand is lovely.

the name may be a gimmick, but the actual product is brilliant!

B.hydrated Hyaluronic Acid Facial Spritz.

Hey! so in my superdrug haul the other week i picked up the B. Hydrated Hyaluronic Acid Facial Spritz £7.99, i have wanted a hydrating facial spritz for a while now and i seemed to pick the right moment because with our current heatwave they are amazing!

So, if you dont know what hyaluronic acid is in simple terms it can hold up to a thousand times its weight in water. It is something we have naturally in our skin, however of course its production does slow down and its always good to top up what we naturally make!

So first off, personally for me if you want a spritz to use throughout the day this isnt for you, but as someone who is oily /combo skinned i dont tend to need hydration during the day. However i have fallen completely in love with using this morning and night! in the “morning” (because lets face it, its rare i shower before 12) i use it on clean skin and then i put my serum on top straight away, and it really adds an extra layer of hydration. At night i use it after my acid toner of choice and then i again put my serum on top straight away and it just feels so nice to lock that in.

With the weather being like it has been, i really havent wanted much on my skin some days or nights! on the really horribly hot days (32c+) i havent been doing much at all, sticking to just spraying this and then putting on a gel based moisturiser and its really worked!

the only downside honestly is the size, ive gone through this pretty fast (ive got like a quarter left) and ive only had it for a few weeks, but its pretty cheap and superdrug always has sales so its not too bad to replace!

all in all ive really liked my first go at true hydrating facial spritzs and im looking forward to trying more!
