Maybelline Fit Me Matt & Poreless Foundation.

Hey! so in my haul last week i showed you that i picked up the maybelline matt & poreless foundation in 095 fair porcelain £6.99 because i had wanted to try it for a while and i saw that they had finally made a shade that looked like it may be pale enough. When i first got it i was very impressed, it was really pale! i tried it on one side of my face and was very pleased to see it was a brilliant colour match, it felt nice on my skin and the coverage was alright.

Since then, ive tried it out a few times now, trying it in a few different ways and i hate to say it, but im really not very impressed with it at all! first off yes, the colour match at first is spot on however once this dries down it oxidises so badly! i put this on, and an hour later i looked and i had this orange tide mark around my jaw when an hour before it was fine! considering how difficult it can be to find colour matches for me, i was sad it didnt really work after all.

So, everytime ive worn this as a wear test, ive worn the smashbox photo finish foundation primer £26.00 underneath as i have combo/oily skin and i generally always need a primer underneath my makeup. I have then very lightly set it with my normal powder (its discontinued, boo) because again, combo/oily and then ive applied contour/blusher/highlight to see how they weared on the foundation. I also tried this foundation over colour correcters from freedom & the barry m all night foundation primer stick £6.99 when i did a makeup look a few days ago.

When worn over the smashbox primer, the foundation goes on smoothly with brush or sponge and is extremely easy to blend, the coverage is light – medium really though it can be built up very easily but only max to a medium coverage. with the smashbox primer, it looks ok on my nose, but you can see my pores pretty obviously more so than with other foundations so poreless it is not! when i tried this over the barry m stick, oh boy! it made my skin look rather dry and my nose looked cakey and rather nasty, as i said i have combo/oily skin, my nose is my oiliest area yet you wouldnt think it with this!

the worst thing for me with this foundation is the wear, after 4 hours with the smashbox primer it wore off around my nose creases and under my glasses pads completely and was quickly coming off my nose all together. My nose chin and forehead were all shiny as well, but when i tried to blot i got nothing! 6 hours in and the foundation had sadly left my nose, cakey foundation around my nose pads the only reminder it was even there! my highlight, blush and contour were all there, it did fine on my cheeks, the most “normal” part of my skin but thats the only place it had! it caked around my upper lip, and was gone under my eyes.

I took it off after 7 hours, the only thing i was doing that day was sitting at my desk playing dnd! yet my foundation acted as if i was doing a work out or something.

i really wanted to like this foundation, but sadly it just didnt work for me and the shade though it was good they brought out a paler shade it ended up turning into ivory in the end anyway!

have you tried something that disappointed you lately?

Emotionally Broken – Hold onto your spark.

Its very easy to give up.

Anyone with mental illness will tell you, theres been a point when they have just wanted to let the illness win and give up. They havent been able to see any light at the end of the tunnel, no spark of hope and they just dont have the fight left. Yet, they have continued fighting all the same, that little spark showing its light once more.

I feel like im in limbo at the moment, i feel so completely stuck and it completely sucks. But it just hit me like a tonne of bricks, that even though i feel stuck, theres this different feeling too it now as well.

im pissed off!

it angers me, it fustrates me, im not just laying down and letting mental illness walk all over me. It can feel like i am, and it can look like i am, but im not because i havent said ok, you win. Im still fighting back, in fact over the past two years i really have got my fight back, i want to live a better life and i will do what i have too to get it.

Part of this is the carrot on a stick effect, i have friends now, from all over the world and i see them doing things and it makes me want those things too. And, it makes me want to meet them, knowing them online is awesome of course, but its been a very long time since ive had friends in “real life” and that, well that would mean everything, to just feel like a normal 20 something for once.

And, i keep fighting for the future i want. Ever since i was a little girl ive wanted to be a mum, its always been a big thing that ive wanted in my life for as long as i can remember and i will fight to be a mother one day. I also would like to be a foster mum one day, theres so many children out there who need a mum but for many reasons dont have one, i want to help them.

But i cant do any of this if i dont help myself first, and its fucking hard, it really bloody is but i will not be giving up. I am fully armoured and ready to face these motherfuckers face on, ive been doing it for years now and they are yet to win. And they wont.

If your in this situation, if you feel like giving up, find something, is it a job you want in the future? do you want children? do you want to travel? do you just want to be happy?

Find it, grab onto it and keep that spark close, our sparks can not go out if we dont let them. And if you find your spark is fading and you just cant anymore, reach out! there are so many of us all with a spark too, willing to help everyones shine bright.

Sparkle, your meant to shine.

makeup revolution obsession palettes

Hey! so the other week i noticed that at the end of makeup revolutions summer sale the make your own palette selection from makeup obsession were very cheap! the eyeshadows, blushers, highlighters etc were all 30-60p, and the palettes themselves were £1.50 for the large 12 pan size! they didnt have the black ones but even so i wasnt going to pass up on this bargain.

eyeshadow palette left to right – white out, pearl, azure, denim, emerald fizz, miami, royal, hypnotic, haute silver, treasure, midnight black.

you can tell i made this palette cant you? all my favourite colours! as you can see, one or two of the shadows i had already. I really like these eyeshadows, they are smooth, pigmented, they blend really well and dont go patchy. Theres a wide collection of colours to choose from as well, so all in all a really good budget eyeshadow pick that you can make perfect for you!

left to right – contour powder in fair, highlight moon, highlight pop, l’amour, flame, bloom, sun ray.

ive only tried the highlighters from obsession makeup before, so i cant say how the contour powder or blushers are. but i can say that the highlighters are really nice, soft and bendable, and they pack a punch! i really like them, especially moon the pretty lilac one.

so all in all, especially considering the price i paid for all these im really happy! i got such a bargain and i know im going to use them.

what was the last bargain you got?

A rather Large Superdrug Haul.

Hey there! so last sunday i made a rather large superdrug order, not only did did i need a few things superdrug currently as mix & match 3 for 2. So it was a good excuse to get some things i wanted as well! of course, its all for the blog (honestly the best excuse).

So over the past few months i went through a bit of a skincare phase, but i seem to have fallen back into a makeup phase now! i still needed/wanted a few skincare and haircare bits however.

My hair doesnt like this heat right now! ive loved the herbal essences naked shine range for a while but the conditioner doesnt seem to be quite cutting it anymore so instead i ordered the herbal essences naked green tea and mint conditioner (normally £3.99 currently £1.98). also hair wise i needed a new hair mask so got the ultimate blends coconut oil frizzy hair mask (currently £2.99 was £4.49). i got 2 showers as you can see, some of my favourites! the original source mint & tea tree shower gel  (£1, was £2.29) a staple of mine especially in the summer! and the superdrug fruity orange & satsuma shower gel (99p) is a shower gel i always order when i order from superdrug.

Finally for this section, i got 2 skincare items, ive really wanted a spritz like the B. hydrated hyaluronic acid facial spritz (£7.99) for a while, and as B. are on buy one get one free i thought i would pick up a back up of my current favourite cleanser for a second cleanse/morning cleanse, the B. clean Creamy Foam hydrating cleanser (£6.99) is amazing because it gives that clean fresh feeling for the summer without stripping or making your skin dry.

Onto the new shiny makeup! i was running very low on powder in general, and a friend suggested the E.l.f High definition setting powder (£7.50). i used this powder many years ago when elf was first in the uk and really liked it so i thought why not! i also really needed a pressed powder so i thought id give the maybelline fit me matte and poreless powder in translucent (£5.99) a go, i normally go for coloured powders but they are often not pale enough so i went for translucent instead.

on the theme of face products and maybelline, i thought id give the maybelline fit me matte & poreless foundation in 95 fair porcelain (£6.99) a try. i wish i could try more drugstore foundations but they are so often too dark for me. but they seem to have brought out a very light shade yay! i also hadnt tried a foundation in a while.
i picked up a tube of the collection lasting perfection concealer (£4.19) in the new shade extra fair, ive tried this concealer before but its never quite been light enough for me so fingers crossed this one is and i can finally give it a good go!
the last face product i picked up is the barry m all night long stick primer in original (£6.99). i really liked the sound of a stick primer, i really like stick products and really want to try more!

almost there i promise! i spent too much money, i needed some new mascaras/wanted some new ones to try, i couldnt resist tryin this new one from loreal the infallible unlimited mascara £10.99. i couldnt not try this really weird want, it bends to a right angle! so odd. The next mascara i bought is the loreal false lash X fiber mascara (£10.99), ive always wanted to try a fiber mascara and ive heard nothing but good things about this one! finally for mascaras, i got the barry m showgirl extra lengthening mascara (£4.99), ive been meaning to try this for a while hearing all good things about it, the tube is rather weighty!

the last thing i got was a new liquid liner, i normally use the bourjois liner pinceau because i find it really hard to find a matt liner with a tip i like! so i thought id try the maybelline master ink matte liquid eyeliner (£5.99). sounds promising considering its so hard to find a matte liner in the drugstore!

phew! as you can see i seriously hauled, thanks for the 3 for 2! what would you like to see me review first? let me know!

July 2018 Pink Parcel.

Hey! So im rather excited to bring you the first of many monthly posts on pink parcel! Pink parcel is the only monthly box i have ever stuck with, and have gotten for over a year now.

Pink Parcel is a monthly subscription service, for those that get periods!

In every box you get a fair amount of the period product of your choice, so in my case thats pads. you get a box full marked for later, a bag full for now, a box of night pads for later and then you get a box that is marked for you.

Now, the box marked for you is where all the fun things are! Inside the box marked for you there is always a tea bag, a sweet treat of some kind, one or two full sized beauty products and a few samples.

Pink parcel is £10.50 a month, you can choose a date it will arrive to suit your cycle & they also have a pink parcel store were you can buy a lot of the products they feature in the box! as you may be able to tell, i really adore pink parcel, ive been getting it for a year now and no more do i have those panicked moments of running out of pads, and plus i get chocolate and beauty products! win win.

Alright, shall i actually show you whats in Julys box now? This months theme is glowing skin, so lets see what that means!

first off, the sweet treat! these can be hit and miss, though there has been some really nice chocolate in here, this months is Joe & Sephs Popcorn with caramel & Belgian chocolate is £4 for 80g (you get 18g in the box). I havent tried it yet, im honestly not the biggest fan of popcorn! so i might give this to my mum, as she likes popcorn much more than i do.

The tea bag this month is the We are tea super berry infusion tea £2.99 for 75g (we got a bag), i have to be honest that i generally collect these tea bags for anyone else that wants them as i dont like tea!

next up we have the sample size products, so we have the balanceme flash cleanse micellar water  £16.00 for 180ml (we get 30ml). I love balance me products, i havent tried this micellar water just yet, i do like a good micellar water mainly for removing makeup swatches, makeup fall out clean & mistakes etc.

The two other samples we have are the Mudmasky sleep repair renewal nourishing mask  and the Mudmasky facial detox purifying detox mask £60.00 for 60ml (we get 15ml). Oh boy are these pricey! ive tried the sleep mask once, it doesnt feel heavy or anything and it sinks in, makes your skin feel soft but havent noticed anything other than that yet!

Alright onto the full size products! first up is the magn!tone wipe out the amazing microfibre cleansing cloth £14.99 for 2 (we got one). ohh i was so excited to see this in here! ive wanted to try one of these for ages, ive messed around with it a bit so far and im impressed!

and lastly there is the jelly pong pong cosmetics stardrops light-activated glow drops $34 (cant find a uk stocklist!). these are the popular highlighter drop things right now, these are in the colour supernova a bright gold, but sadly really not my colour so i havent opened them so i can give them away at some point!

so there you have it! i wasnt blown over by this months if im honest, but thats likely down too the drops not being my thing. Even so i am looking forward to seeing what i get next month.

Emotionally Broken – If Only I Was Ok.

Hey, so im sure from the name of my blog gave it away but i will regularly talk about mental health on my little blog here. Sometimes it may be something happening with me (like todays post) and sometimes it may be more general. Im calling this series emotionally broken, ive called mental health series that for a while now and it just makes sense!

So, I personally have suffered with mental Illness since i was 11 years old, currently i have severe generalised anxiety disorder, depression, agoraphobia and abnormal eating disorder. yep, quite the list!

Today, i wanted to talk about what ive been feeling over the past few days because i have been feeling many, many things and its a lot.

Its all been brought on because a few friends of mine that i have known for about 2 years are all meeting at a event tomorrow and well, i for obvious reasons am not there and it quite honestly? is fucking killing me.

Ive wanted to go to this event since the first one 3 years ago, The first one i watched via the steam (its a gamer event) feeling a mix of happiness and just…i dont know how to describe it. Because its not exactly jealously, i am so very happy for my friends, but i wish with every single part of me that i was there too.

6 years ago i was signed off from my job at the time, and since then my mental and physical health as just plummeted. Ive found ways to still have things in my life, the internet is my complete saviour but its just not the same.

I dont have a life, i dont live, i exist and god id give anything for that not to be the case. Id give everything just to have a normal day, take my problems for a day, let me have that 1 day and ill have them back for the rest of my life, thats fine ill take it. But it doesnt work like that, i cant do that.

Every event, every wedding, every baby, every good grade, every hoilday, hell every walk in the park i see someone do on social media i always think, “why cant i do that”.

i try, i try very hard to get better & good grief do i try my best to stay positive but sometimes? sometimes i just cant be anymore, sometimes like now, i just want to be a normal 25 year old, and live my life as i want too.

Im sorry for the way this post as gone, i didnt mean to get so emotional! but im not removing it, this is something i want to make sure gets out there, the truest rawest side of mental illness. Because it isnt pretty, it isnt nice and one thing is for sure, it isnt shown enough in its true form.

so welcome to emotionally broken, it wont be very happy, but it will be real.

Makeup Revolution Pro Regeneration Trends Mischief Mattes Review & swatches.

Hey! so this is the first time ive talked about a makeup revolution product on my blog unless its just been listed in a makeup look but trust me it wont be the last! i adore makeup revolution, freedom, obsession products and my makeup collection shows that for sure!

well, a few weeks ago there summer sale started so of course i was straight onto there site (i may have placed another order the day im typing this too…opps), and placed a rather large order, however this palette was not in the sale. It was something i new from the moment it was released i was gonna be ordering the next time i made an order with them, so i did!

This is the Makeup Revolution Pro Regeneration Trends Mischief Mattes palette £8.00, and yes its got one heck of a name! but its worth it because for £8 its an extremely good matte eyeshadow palette.

It contains a wide selection of colours but its of course mainly brights, with a white and a beige thrown in too. Below ive swatched all of the shadows, this is all one swipe, though i will say i was rather warm when i swatched them hence the skipping due to warm hands!

From left to right – Saint, Attached, New Day, Day Dream, Half Time, Believer.
From left to right – Ringleader, Fearless, Shrine, Indication, Crusade, Poison.

From left to right – Upperhand, Underdog, Ricochet, Exclusive, Haunted, Cursed.

As you can see, theres a really good selection of colours, you have your more “wearable” pinks and purples, blues and greens and even a yellow! yellow and red eyeshadow are the two colours i really struggle to find yet the two in this palette are really good. The pigment is extremely good, i mean look at these swatches! for cheaper mattes its crazy, they blend out really nicely and as long as you prime (and i always do) they are going to stay put, even on my very oily hooded lids. I couldnt honestly recommend these enough, ive had trouble not picking it up for every look i do at the minute!

have you tried this palette? did you love it as much as i did? let me know!
